Welcome to the DLR Events website – a comprehensive guide to what’s happening in the Dun Laoghaire Rathdown County Council area.

We’ve brought everything to one place so you won’t miss a thing.

With a full calendar of arts, literature, sports, music and family events, there’s something for everyone. Best of all, many of our events are FREE for everyone to enjoy. Check out the archive and galleries for a look at all the great days out we’ve had so far.

We are having an eventful summer in Dun Laoghaire Rathdown having kicked things off on the June Bank Holiday with Outdoor Movies in the Park, followed by Active 8, a day of fun cycling activities, and a day of family fun at Teddy Bears’ Picnic. Most recently many enjoyed the classical sounds of the Slovak Festival Orchestra in the beautiful surrounds of Marlay Park Walled Garden at Classical Twist on the August Bank Holiday weekend. Summer of Heritage continues until September 5th with guided nature walks, heritage tours and living history performances at the county’s many heritage sites.

As the summer draws to an end we hope you will be ready to get back to the future as we are getting ready for the return of Dad’s Day Off in Cabinteely Park on Sunday 26th September. Back for a second year, this event was born in 2009 to celebrate the 1980s and give Dads a chance to let loose and show their kids what was fun and cool back in the day. Also coming up in September is the Mountains to Sea dlr Book Festival, which will run from September 7th to 12th with a series of literary events in various venues around Dun Laoghaire. Tickets are now on sale, see www.mountainstosea.ie.

Before the winter sets in we’ll be celebrating Hallowe’en with Samhain in Marlay Park Come in fancy dress to scare off the ghosts and ghouls as you explore the haunted forest. Lots of treats are in store including a fabulous fireworks display to light up the night sky.
